Pothamedu View Point

Pothamedu Viewpoint is one of those places in Munnar which fills you with refreshing vibes. A never-ending cover of tea plantations, evergreen meadows and cars turning cautiously on the winding road below is the scene you witness.

Things to do in Pothamedu Viewpoint Munnar

Blossom International Park Munnar

Blossom International Park in Munnar is a place to relax and refresh after a busy day around the town. Colourful landscapes, scenic views and loads of activities make it the perfect place to spend an evening with your friends and family.

Green lawns, ornamental flower gardens and a serene lake can keep you engaged for hours. They also make this place a splendid location for some candid photos. Also known as Munnar Hydel Park, the Blossom International Park also has a play area for kids with swings and other rides. It is a popular picnic spot among the local people. And it is a must-visit tourist spot too.

Boating in the lake: Boating with your dear ones is one of the relaxing activities in the Blossom International Park Munnar, Kerala. Sitting in a boat with your family or friends, you can observe the surroundings and enjoy distant views.


Relaxing in the park: The park is also a favourite among those who just want to sit and relax. Perch yourself on a bench, with the hills and tea estates in the backdrop, and read your book. You can also stroll around in the expansive lawn with colourful flowers spread all around.


Trekking around: Set in the beautiful locales of Munnar, Blossom International Park is best explored by trekking around. Check out the lush green areas of the park and scour through the trails to get the unobstructed breathtaking views of the place.


Bird watching: Blossom Park Munnar attracts a variety of birds, and thus bird watching is another popular activity here. So, take your binoculars along and you might spot some unique species of birds around.


Checking the fun activities: The park offers a range of activities within the premises. Cycling, roller-skating and zorbing are among the popular ones. You'll also find an aquarium and a fish spa. A separate kids’ play area is also here, furnished with swings, hammocks and cute tree houses among other equipment.
 

Enjoying the flower show: Blossom Hydel Park is home to many rare species of flowering plants and trees, and it also hosts the annual flower show in Munnar. During this exhibition, the park is full of vivid and fragrant flowers. It is also decorated with lovely flower sculptures.

Attukal Waterfalls

Somewhere between Pallivasal and Munnar, the Attukal Waterfalls gush through the hills to show their cascading might to all the onlookers. Also known as Attukad Waterfalls, the force with which the waters roll down the rocks make them appear white due to the froth. The rocks themselves are rather smooth due to the continuous erosion that shapes them.

Since the cascades are at short gaps of altitude from one another, you can see the entire panorama of this natural phenomenon. The scene looks particularly arresting in the monsoon and winters when the vegetation turns the surrounding hills green.

The region around the falls is quite popular with trekkers also as there are several beautiful trails one can hike on. Even while you gaze at the falls from across the road, you can smell the distinctive aroma of medicinal plants which grow on either side of Attukal Waterfalls. The area is ideal for picnicking with family and camping with friends as well.

Karadipara View Point

Karadipara view point is a picture perfect view to seize the beauty of Munnar. One could enjoy the long view of the mountains and Tea plantations from this place. The Magnificent view of the Mountains is beyond the words. There are few couple Park Bench Seats for the individuals who likes to discreetly dip in to this natural beauty. Karadipara view point offers an excellent view of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. The vantage point offers a panoramic view of Munnar and adjoining valleys.. 

Punarjani Traditional Village

Punarjani, meaning rebirth, is a traditional cultural village located about 8 kms from Munnar town. This traditional village showcases two performing arts 'Kathakali', a classical dance drama and 'Kalarippayattu', a traditional martial art of Kerala. In addition to these, it also promotes Ayurvedic therapies.

Kathakali performance is a skillful combination of literature, music, costumes, elaborate facial makeup and dancing. The show starts at 5:00 PM every day and lasts for about an hour. The guests can watch Kathakali artists don their facial make-ups from 4:00 PM. The village offers seating arrangements at different rates viz; Premium seat at INR 300 per person, Balcony seats at INR 250 per person and Executive seats at INR 200 per person.

Kalarippayattu, a martial art form is promoted as a one hour show, starting at 6:00 PM every day. Premium seats cost INR 300 per person and Executive seats cost INR 200 per person. Children below 5 years of age are offered complimentary tickets but there will be no separate seats offered for them. The guests are encouraged to take photographs with the artists and their weapons.

Apart from these, ‘Punarjani Ayurvedics’ offers a variety of ayurvedic relaxation therapies.
